Change Is Not Always Easy, But Is So Rewarding

“When the storms of life come, the wicked are whirled away, but the godly have a lasting foundation.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭10:25‬ ‭NLT‬‬

When I started my walk with Christ I understood that I will have to change a lot of things in my life. You can almost compare it to the super talented people on TV that buy a old beat down house, renovate it and flip it. First they come in with a demolition team, break the house down to the core; strip it of all the ugly and get to the basic needs of the house...
Only Once that is complete, can the building process begin. Say you decide to renovate your kitchen. You pull out all of your cabinets, appliances and the ugly flooring that you couldn't stand from the day you moved in. In the process you find out there is a leak. Would you fix the pipes before the new tiles are in place? Of course. If you were to put the new floor on top of the damaged pipes, you would only have a temporary fix. Once you know about the pipes, it's going to make you nervous and give you anxiety because it's only a matter of time before the damage is back at the surface again.
That's exactly what I had to, and still have to, do. It's a process of breaking down the old me, but the more I work on my self the more I like who I am becoming, and at that point I can't wait to get to the fun part: decorating once the renovation is over. Just like that in that old house, there is always something that is going to come up… a roof that got damaged in the last storm or a garage door that's not working. It's important that we take care of the core and build a solid foundation.
I have tried for most of my adult life to build a foundation and a safe place for myself. I searched in all the wrong places. I thought I had the tools I needed to build at least a shed, but every tiny storm tore that down. It was not until I walked into Upward Church started reading the Bible and acknowledge every sign possible that God gave me, that things changed forever. I now have the tools, and I pray you will pick those up, too. I promise you there is a toolbox that's already set up for you all you have to do is use it.

I know that change is not something that we are all comfortable with, but it is always a great thing. Well, I wouldn't say always, but having a chance of scenery can be good. Of course, if you live your life doing the same things over and over again, then you are never going to experience a thrill in your life. It is easier said that done, but it is the truth. We all just need to change a little bit.
