In this heartrending debut, blogger Jude chronicles the abuse she suffered as an adolescent, its destructive aftermath, and the power of faith and forgiveness in helping her to heal. Writing with journalist Jones, Jude gives an account of a decade in which her mother’s boyfriend abused her. The abuse began when she was 10. Two years later, Jude began using drugs, alcohol, self-harm, promiscuity, and suicide attempts to try to alleviate the pain of her secret trauma, as well as to survive her volatile family life. Jude’s adulthood continued to be filled with dysfunctional relationships (including two unhappy marriages), but she eventually found her way to God through a local church. Cornelia Jude’s story is one of the most shocking but inspirational stories I have ever read or even heard of. Cornelia’s journey was hard-hitting, and although the events throughout this book are of a hard-hitting nature, the primary feeling associated with this book is inspiration as Cornelia’s courage and determination to find faith as well as overcome her circumstances is truly beautiful. Cornelia’s story I believe will relate to everybody, despite the fact that the core themes at the heart of this book are religious. Although Mended Faith is a religious book about finding faith again, it is still a book that is accessible to every person because every human has experienced, on some kind of level what Cornelia has so that is why everybody should have the pleasure of reading this phenomenal book.
Cornelia Jude and Chris Jones are phenomenal writers and people who I admire dearly. Their book is one that is incredibly inspirational as well as honest. It takes a lot for a person to be so honest and to tell their tale so I admire Cornelia for doing just this and sharing her tale in the hope that she can help others. As Mended Faith is one of the most inspirational tales I have ever read, I have no choice but to award this incredible book a dazzling five stars as it truly deserves it!

I took my time reading this because, although short and sweet, it was also deep and resonated well with me, unfortunately. I could literally feel Cornelia's pain, disappointment, and even her positive energies of change as she reached for God and her spiritual growth.
This book is a must-read for anyone who has ever faced abuse of any type, depression, addiction, or loss of a child. And A MUST if you know God through it all.
I will pass this book along to a few friends of mine who I know will enjoy Cornelia's story as I have; I feel like I know her.

I love this book. It's a quick and straight to the issue story about what the author wants to share with us most, rather than something that feels like a random walk down memory lane. I loved her reflections on extremely painful and traumatic events as she highlighted a way, her way, to forgiveness and freedom from among some of the worst experiences and their potentially lasting effects. This is truly a story of triumph and forgiveness.....Great read!!

Cornelia Jude has great courage to come forth in sharing her story, all in the hope of helping others in situations of abuse and to make us aware that there is forgiveness and promise in the love God has for us, and that with His help, we will not only get through, but will persevere. She wants us all to know with His help she was able to get through to the other side and that as long as we welcome Him in, He can help all of us as well. Hers is a great story of conquering her painful past, forgiving, and renewing her heart with God's love. This story will inspire and give hope to all those experiencing brokenness. Thank you Cornelia Jude for helping to change the lives of all those hurting and to realize that "With God All Things Are Possible".

My mom has often told me a Spanish line that loosely translated means “God will squeeze you but he will never strangle you”! Cornelia’s plight and dedication to love and God speaks those words into reality! It’s shockingly difficult to not feel real empathy in her struggles. The resolve and success she’s become not just in life but most importantly inner self peace is an amazing testament that any person with repeated knock down issues can lean on the strength of god and stay on a path with faith and find the light at the end of the at times seemingly endless tunnel! Thank you so much Cornelia for sharing your story for us to all gain strength from!!!

An absolutelly inspiring story. A book that I simply could not put down. I wanted to read it because I have had students open up to me about being sexually abused and all I could do was cry, refer them to a counselor, and ultimatelly feel helpless. While I understand that every victim is different, after reading this book I definitelly have a better understanding of the entire experience. However, the most important thing here is the power to forgive, and the process of healing the soul and mind through God’s grace. This book can trully speak to anyone.
Powerful, powerfull and well written book. So glad I read it.

This is the first book that I have read in 8 years. If you can relate to Cornelia’s past then this book will speak directly to you on a very deep level. I am so proud of Cornelia for having the courage to come forward and share her story. She is going to change so many lives and she has already started with mine one book at a time.

This is one of the most powerful books I've read about the abused! If you lived a lifestyle of addiction rooted from an abusive life or know someone that is currently living one then this is the book to read. The obstacles the author overcame through grace and love is mind blowing. This is a hard book to put down!

Cornelia Jude touched my heart. Although my story was different there were so many revelations through these chapters. A great read for anyone who's doubted how their past could be forgiven, or how they could ever forgive. I rarely buy hard copy books but this book will be something i reread often. Healing through Forgiveness

This book was a great read. I read it in 3 days. Although the author suffered greatly, I love how she found Jesus! God heals the broken even though the broken still struggle every day. There is so much courage throughout the book. I’m glad that Jude gave the world her testimony and by doing that, she not only is healing herself but giving other abused people the knowledge that they are not alone. What I learned is that forgiveness isn’t for them it’s for you!

This is an incredible story, I was able to relate not to that extent but in different ways, the way she explained things made me realize a lot of things, I myself felt lost many times. I Pray for the author and all the victims around this world to remind you that God Loves you and also lives in You, open your hearts to Him. I rarely have time to read for leisure, but Mended Faith was hard to put down. Cornelia Jude’s vulnerability in this book definitely prompts a certain conversation, which is necessary. It allows the reader to go on the journey and eventually find the strength and resiliency. This book is changing lives.

If you’re ever looking for something or someone’s story to keep you going, it’s definitely mended faith. It’s just amazing how resilient we all are and we don’t even know it. The author out her blood, sweat and tears into this book and it’s amazing what the outcome was. I don’t want to spoil it so just do yourself a favor and order it!
