Do you ever ask yourself why we continue to go in circles?
It is true for a many of us… we get stuck in the same situations over and over again, whether it be bad relationships, jobs that we can’t stand to go to, or even letting others mentally and physically abuse us. We tell ourselves this will never happen to me again, just to find ourselves back in the same bad place, having learned nothing. About 2 years ago I decided to break the cycle. I was worn out from running in circles, not getting anywhere.
Here’s a little secret: we all already know what it would take to break that dreaded cycle. We know we need to end the relationship, quit the job, get out of bed. We dream of walking straight to happiness. Of reaching our dreams and goals. The only way to make all of that possible is, and I’m sorry to be the one to break it to you, but, you have to be willing to be uncomfortable for a while. Have you ever heard the saying “it has to get worse before it gets better”? It was definitely true for me. It had to get a lot worse but I am here to tell you that it is worth it.
Think about it. What would make you happy? What would bring you peace? What are you willing to do to get there? What is your motivation?
The first thing I had to do was let go of my pride and admit how broken I was. I had to walk down Memory Lane for many days and nights, sometimes getting stuck at terrifying corners, but I knew deep down that no circle in the world has a corner, so I kept on walking 😊.
I started this journey with a lot of people by my side. I lost some along the way, but I also picked up some new ones.
Psalms 84:6 NLT
When they walk through the Valley of Weeping, it WILL become a place of refreshing springs. The autumn rains will clothe it with blessings.
